Job summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a Survey Party Chief to oversee land surveys, plan studies, assess terrain for construction, and supervise the survey crew to deliver precise site layouts in multi-site projects. You will use Leica, Topcon, Trimble, AutoCAD, Carlson GPS, Bluebeam Revu, and Google Earth to ensure data accuracy and coordinate with engineering teams while upholding safety standards.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years in industrial construction surveying with layout or supervisory duties.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and GNSS/total station tools.
• Experience with Leica, Topcon, Trimble and Carlson GPS systems.
• Ability to read schedules/drawings and coordinate with engineering teams.
• Strong emphasis on safety and quality control, able to train others.

Responsibilities

• Oversee land surveys, plan studies and assess ground conditions for sites.
• Lead survey crew, ensure accurate measurements and site layouts.
• Prepare sketches, maps, reports, and legal descriptions of surveys.
• Use AutoCAD, Leica, Topcon, Trimble and Carlson GPS to produce data and models.
• Coordinate findings with engineers and clients; uphold safety standards.
