Job summary

LJA Surveying is seeking a Party Chief to supervise surveying crews, transport and set up equipment, and prepare sites for field surveys. You will use Trimble or Topcon GPS systems and robotic total stations to collect data for design professionals.

Ideal candidates have strong communication skills, the ability to build client relationships, and experience in field surveying. This role involves physical tasks and outdoor work across project sites, with ample opportunity for hands-on growth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
• Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external clients.

Responsibilities

• Transport and set up surveying instruments and equipment.
• Operate surveying equipment (Trimble/Topcon GPS) and robotic total stations.
• Prepare sites for surveying work and perform topographic surveys.
• Take photos of measured property corners with details for tying in corners.
• Upload text data for CAD work and maintain clear notes.
