Qualifications

• Experience with analytical or scientific software and AutoCAD.
• Ability to supervise and manage a site crew.
• Must observe safety procedures and report unsafe conditions.
• Knowledge of record keeping systems.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Verify the accuracy of survey data, including measurements and calculations conducted at survey sites.
• Search legal records, survey records, and land titles to obtain information about property boundaries.
• Calculate heights, depths, relative positions, and property lines.
• Prepare sketches, maps, reports, and legal descriptions of surveys.
• Write descriptions of boundary surveys for deeds and leases.
• Compute geodetic measurements and interpret survey data for positions and elevations.
• Determine longitudes and latitudes using theodolites, GPS, and other instruments.
• Record survey results including shape, location, and elevations of land features.
• Coordinate findings with engineers, clients, and project personnel.
• Establish fixed points for mapping using geodetic and engineering instruments.
• Adjust surveying instruments to maintain accuracy.
• Plan and conduct ground surveys to establish baselines and elevations.
• Analyze survey objectives to prepare proposals or direct others in proposals.
• Survey bodies of water to determine navigable channels for marine construction.
• Other duties as required.
