Job summary

Kuo & Associates, a partner firm within The HFW Companies, seeks a Lead Survey Party Chief to perform field surveys and measurement tasks in the Houston area. You will establish control, perform topographic and boundary work, and support project managers with field operations.

You may assist with CAD drafting, data calculations, and client communications while working both independently and as part of a team in a dynamic, safety-conscious environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years in surveying, with at least 2 years in a crew chief role.
• Proficient operating GPS and robotic total stations; LiDAR experience is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; LSIT preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Operate survey equipment including total stations, levels, GPS devices, 3D scanners, and data collectors.
• Work independently as a one-person crew chief and as part of a team.
• Conduct ALTA/boundary, control, topography, and construction surveys.
• Travel occasionally for work, including overnight stays as needed.
• Engage with clients to understand project needs and maintain professional relationships.
• Interpret deeds and construction plans to support surveying and project execution.
