Job summary

Topographic, Inc. in Texas is seeking a Party Chief to plan, organize, and direct a survey party to determine precise locations and measurements for the final survey product.

You will lead field crew, manage assignments, ensure safety and industry standards, oversee data collection, prepare logs, and mentor junior staff. Travel to worksites and coordination with Field Supervisors is required.

Qualifications

• Mid-level math skills and geodetic understanding
• Familiarity with state plane coordinates and land boundary retracement
• Introductory knowledge of Trimble Business Center
• Solid field notes and sketches documentation

Responsibilities

• Organize crew manpower and resources to perform assigned survey tasks quickly and efficiently.
• Manage daily work assignments and tasks of the field crew, including equipment use, sketches, notes, and data collection.
• Ensure field survey activities meet company and industry standards and safety procedures.
• Ensure crew adheres to safety protocols and PPE.
• Communicate daily with Field Supervisor/Project Manager.
• Conduct daily data collector downloading and prepare time sheets, logs, and expense reports.
• Mentor and train Rod Person/Instrument Tech as needed.
• Transport equipment; travel to job sites as required.
