Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Survey Party Chief to lead field crews and drive high-quality land surveying projects across topographic, boundary, ALTA, construction stakeout, and as-built surveys. You’ll own field operations, mentor crews, and work with modern survey technology while maintaining client satisfaction and project schedules.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of land surveying with crew leadership preferred.
• Experience with topo, boundary, ALTA, as-built, and construction stakeout surveys.
• Strong understanding of field calculations, traverses, coordinate geometry, and control networks.
• Proficiency with modern survey equipment: Leica, Trimble, Topcon, Total Stations, GPS.
• Ability to read plans, plats, deeds, easements, and right-of-way documents.

Responsibilities

• Lead field crews daily with safety and accuracy in mind.
• Coordinate with leadership and office staff to meet schedules and deadlines.
• Provide field teams with priorities, tasks, and daily direction.
• Perform data collection, control establishment, and documentation.
• Manage survey schedules and communicate project status to stakeholders.
• Conduct site safety assessments and ensure safety procedures are followed.
• Perform calculations involving traverses, coordinates, and boundaries.
• Research deeds, plats, easements, and right-of-way documents.
• Execute and support boundary, topographic, ALTA, construction stakeout, and as-built surveys.
• Ensure accurate collection and transfer of field data and photos.
• Maintain and operate survey equipment with calibration.
