Job summary

Brigham and Women's Hospital, Inc. in Boston seeks a Lead Surgical Technologist – Thoracic Surgery to support the perioperative team on rotating shifts. You will mentor colleagues, prep rooms, manage equipment, and ensure sterile technique and patient safety in complex thoracic procedures.

Reporting to the Operating Room Nurse Manager, you will be a clinical leader within Thoracic Surgery, collaborating with nurses and surgeons to deliver exceptional patient care and continuous team development.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Licensure & Certification: Current CST certification required.
• Experience: 3–5 years as Surgical Technologist; thoracic surgery experience required.
• Leadership: Experience or ability to mentor is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Prepare operating rooms for thoracic procedures with appropriate instruments and supplies.
• Anticipate needs of surgical team and coordinate equipment during procedures.
• Maintain sterile technique and patient safety throughout operations.
• Serve as clinical resource and mentor for Surgical Technologists in Thoracic service.
