Job summary

The Brigham and Women's Hospital, Inc. is seeking a Lead Surgical Technologist for Cardiac and Vascular services in Boston. This on-site role combines expert scrub responsibilities with leadership duties to ensure OR readiness, instrumentation management, and smooth turnover.

You will train and mentor technologists, coordinate with Central Processing, Materials Management, and clinical teams, and support continuous improvements in instrument optimization and case preparation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (required).
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) (required).
• 3–5 years of Surgical Technologist experience (required).
• Cardiac/Vascular surgical experience (required).

Responsibilities

• Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures.
• Set up and manage surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment.
• Maintain sterile technique and monitor equipment during procedures.
• Facilitate on-time OR starts and efficient room turnovers.
• Scrub cases to support operational needs.
• Review and prepare upcoming surgical cases.
• Ensure case cart accuracy and equipment availability.
• Collaborate with surgeons to maintain preference cards.
• Partner with Central Processing on workflow improvements.
