Job summary

University of Maryland Capital Region Medical Center in Largo, MD is seeking a Full-Time Surgical Technologist Lead to advance perioperative care. The role blends hands-on surgical tech expertise with leadership, supporting OR operations, service lines, and safe patient care.

You will mentor staff, manage instruments and supplies, coordinate with surgeons and nursing leadership, and help ensure regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of a Surgical Technologist training program.
• Certification as a Surgical Technologist; BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the Operating Room, instruments, and patient positioning.
• Function as a lead Surgical Technologist during procedures.
• Provide guidance and support to the Surgical Technologists team.
• Lead assigned service lines and coordinate equipment and supplies.
• Support orientation, training, and ongoing education.
• Maintain surgeon preference cards and case prep.
• Support inventory management and tool availability.
• Assist with policies, quality initiatives, and regulatory readiness.
• Collaborate with nursing leadership, educators, surgeons, and perioperative team.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
