Job summary

The Army National Guard Units in New Hampshire seeks a Surface Maintenance Mechanic (WG-5801-8/10) in a Title 32 permanent position. You will inspect, repair, troubleshoot, and overhaul a wide range of heavy and light vehicles and equipment, including engines, transmissions, and fuel systems, often in remote locations.

You will lead and assist other mechanics and ensure readiness of fleet assets. Basic qualifications include compatible military grade (E1–E8) and appropriate assignments

Qualifications

• Military Grades: E1 to E8; compatible military assignment WG-5801 mechanical background preferred.
• Experience leading a team or providing guidance to lower grade mechanics is desired.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, inspection, and overhaul of combat, tactical, and automotive vehicles and equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and fuel systems using common test equipment and data.
• Repair and overhaul major systems including engines, transmissions, drive lines, and fuel injection systems.
• Supervise or provide technical guidance to lower grade mechanics and assist in field maintenance at unit locations.
