Job summary

The Army National Guard Units in the United States seeks a Surface Maintenance Mechanic (TITLE 32), WG-5801-5/8/10, to perform maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, inspection and overhaul of a variety of combat, tactical, commercial and special purpose vehicles and equipment.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting and repairing heavy-duty engines, transmissions, drive lines, hydraulic systems, and electrical components, following manuals and maintenance bulletins.

Qualifications

• Experience with heavy-duty vehicle maintenance.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair mobile equipment.
• Familiarity with diagnostic tools and manuals.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, maintain and repair a variety of combat, tactical, commercial, and special purpose vehicles and equipment.
• Repair major systems including engines, transmissions, drive lines, hydraulics, and electrical components.
• Inspect, overhaul and test assemblies, following maintenance Bulletins, TM manuals and regulations.
• Work independently in remote locations and when needed remove and replace defective parts.
