Nomura Services India (Powai) supports Nomura’s global operations with capabilities in trading support, research, IT, financial control, operations, risk management, and legal support, playing a key role in Nomura’s global expansion.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Handle 9x5 support and weekend on-call for RedHat Linux / VMWare virtualization platform.
• Work in EU shift (12 PM to 09 PM IST).
• No night shifts involved.
• Participate in incident/outage handling of Linux and VMWare.
• Manage and assist Level-2 teams during off-hours on a rotation basis.
• Escalate and liaise with vendors/engineering for troubleshooting complex issues.
• Upgrade and expand OS, virtualization, and hardware platforms following vendor/engineering guidance.
• Conduct disaster recovery reviews and tests.
• Implement scheduled system changes during off-hours/weekends.
• Collaborate with regional peers on global projects.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Required:

• 5-10 years of Red Hat Linux and VMWare administration experience.
• Over 5 years of total IT experience.
• Experience with RedHat OS 7 and above.
• Experience with VMware.
• Experience with Ansible Tower.
• Scripting and automation experience (Python and shell scripting).

Beneficial Knowledge/Experience:

• Cloud infrastructure experience (Azure, AWS, GCP).
• Familiarity with SRE concepts, scripting for cloud, CI/CD, and DevOps tools.
• Experience with large-scale server environments.
