Shield AI is seeking a highly skilled Supplier Development Engineer to drive the technical development, industrialization, and performance improvement of critical mechanical suppliers, including precision-machined components and airframe structures.

You will interface with Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain to qualify suppliers and ramp production, while leading design-for-manufacturability efforts.

Competenze

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Aerospace, Chemical, Materials, Industrial Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years in supplier development, manufacturing/process/mechanical engineering, supplier quality, or supply chain in aerospace/defense sectors.
• Experience leading supplier development for aerospace components and ability to resolve complex manufacturing, quality, and delivery issues.

Mansioni

• Lead technical development and industrialization of suppliers for precision machining, airframe structures, landing gear, and propulsion hardware.
• Assess supplier capabilities, processes, capacity, quality systems, tooling, and readiness for development and production.
• Lead capability assessments, MRBs, process audits, and capacity analyses with cross-functional teams.
• Coordinate supplier selection and qualification, including Europe-based suppliers for regional growth.
• Lead design-for-manufacturability discussions to reduce cost and lead times.
