Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3+ years in scrap recycling, metal processing, manufacturing, logistics or related industrial environment.
• 1+ year of supervisory or leadership experience.
• Proficiency with scale house operations, scrap metal grading and yard operations preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily scale house and metal shop operations.
• Lead, train, schedule and support employees while maintaining accountability and performance standards.
• Ensure accurate weighing, documentation and processing of inbound and outbound materials.
• Coordinate activities between scale operators, yard personnel, equipment operators and customers.
• Monitor scrap receiving, sorting, grading and shipment activities to maximize efficiency.
• Enforce safety policies and OSHA/regulatory compliance.
• Resolve operational and customer service issues related to material transactions and processing.
• Maintain records, inventory controls and operational reports.
• Conduct workplace inspections and support equipment maintenance.
• Promote a safe, organized, and productive work environment.
• Assist management with process improvements and achieving goals.
