Jobot is seeking a Lead Superintendent for commercial construction in Virginia. You will oversee planning through execution, manage resources, and supervise on-site teams and subcontractors.

Responsibilities include budgeting, quality control, and ensuring compliance with plans, schedules, and safety standards. A strong leadership background, 5+ years in construction, and a relevant degree are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar construction leadership role.
• Proven ability to lead site teams, manage budgets, estimate costs, and negotiate contracts.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to read blueprints and construction docs.
• Understanding of construction procedures, equipment, and OSHA guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of the construction project from planning to implementation.
• Allocate resources for assigned projects.
• Supervise onsite personnel and subcontractors.
• Interface with inspectors, contractors, architects, engineers, officials, and clients.
• Maintain workmanship standards per plans and specs.
• Ensure project aligns with design, budget, and schedule.
• Direct activities related to construction and maintenance of structures and systems.
• Prepare and submit budget estimates and cost tracking reports.
• Develop and implement quality control programs.
• Explain plans/terms to staff, workers, and clients.
• Address delays, bad weather, or emergencies on site.
• Inspect projects for compliance with codes and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and review projects to monitor compliance with building and safety codes, and other regulations.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within the construction industry.
• Proven experience in project management, rehabilitation construction, leading site teams, budget control, construction estimating, cost control, materials management, construction management, budgeting, and contract negotiation.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics, and construction documents.
• Understanding of construction procedures, equipment and OSHA guidelines.
• Ability to plan and see the "big picture".
• Competent in conflict and crisis management.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• A team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• BSc/BA in engineering, building science or relevant field.
• Valid license to practice profession.
