Jobot is seeking a Lead Superintendent for commercial construction in the Hampton Roads area. You will oversee the project from planning to execution, manage resources, and lead onsite teams including subcontractors.

Applicants should have 5+ years in construction management, strong communication, and the ability to read blueprints. A valid professional license is required and OSHA guidelines knowledge is expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within the construction industry.
• Experience in project management, rehabilitation construction, leading site teams, budget control, and contract negotiation.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics, and construction documents.
• Valid license to practice profession.
• Familiarity with OSHA guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of the construction project from planning to implementation.
• Allocate resources for assigned projects.
• Supervise onsite personnel and subcontractors.
• Interface with inspectors, contractors, architects, engineers, officials, and clients.
• Maintain high workmanship standards per plans and specifications.

• Plan, organize, and direct construction activities and maintenance.
• Prepare and submit budget estimates and progress/cost tracking reports.
• Develop and implement quality control programs.
• Explain plans and contract terms to staff and clients.
• Address delays, bad weather, or emergencies at site.
• Inspect and review projects for regulatory compliance.

• Inspect and review projects to monitor compliance with building and safety codes, and other regulations.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within the construction industry.


• Proven experience in project management, rehabilitation construction, leading site teams, budget control, construction estimating, cost control, materials management, construction management, budgeting, and contract negotiation.


• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.


• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.


• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.


• Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics, and construction documents.


• Understanding of construction procedures, equipment and OSHA guidelines.


• Ability to plan and see the \"big picture\".


• Competent in conflict and crisis management.
