Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Mid-Level Structural Engineer for the Power Delivery Substation Structural Group. You will lead and self-perform structural design for electrical substations, including foundations, structures, and control buildings, while coordinating with civil/structural teams and other disciplines.

Responsibilities include developing specifications, cost estimates, and schedules, reviewing shop drawings, and supporting construction with RFIs.

Qualifications

BSCE from ABET-accredited college.

Responsibilities

Lead other engineers, designers, and drafters, and self-perform all aspects of electrical substation structural design, including foundations, structural supports, and control building design.
Support substation physical design with bus analysis calculations and coordinating with multiple disciplines.
Prepare calculation packages to satisfy client, code, and WSP requirements.
Coordinate with all disciplines contributing to electrical substation design.
Evaluate constructability of electrical substations.
Ensure plans adhere to client and WSP standards.
Develop structural construction specifications, cost estimates, engineering proposals, and project schedules.
Review shop drawings, respond to RFIs, and provide construction phase support.
Occasional travel may be required.
Strong English communication skills.
Manage budgets and schedules on multiple projects.
