Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a Substation Project Manager in the Industrial Division to lead complex substation programs for IOUs and data-center clients across the United States. You will manage scope, schedule, budget and risk while coordinating cross‑functional teams including physical, P&C, civil/structural engineering, and procurement.

Travel up to 10% is expected. Ideal candidates have a proven track record in design‑build or EPC substation delivery, with strong leadership and client‑facing skills

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field.
• 10 years of related experience.
• Certification: PMP (PMI), CCM or DBIA is required within 12 months of hire.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Managing substation engineering projects from early concept through detailed design and construction support.
• Leading multi‑discipline engineering teams and coordinating with stakeholders to meet quality, schedule and budget.
• Directing proposal development by defining scope, schedule, staffing, and cost.
• Serving as main client contact to deliver a legendary client experience and grow the account.
