Job summary

CDM Smith is actively seeking a Substation Project Manager to lead multi-discipline teams on high-visibility substation programs across the United States. You will oversee projects from feasibility through commissioning, ensuring safety, quality, and schedule adherence.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years of related experience and a PMP/ CCM/ DBIA certification within 12 months of hire. Occasional travel and leadership responsibilities are part of this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree is required.
• 10 years of related experience.
• PMP (PMI), CCM or DBIA certification required within 12 months of hire.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required; travel frequency depends on workload and project demands.

Responsibilities

• Manage small to large complex substation engineering projects from early concept through detailed design and construction support.
• Lead proposal development by defining scope, schedule, staffing, and cost for compliant submissions.
• Direct multi-discipline substation engineering teams and coordinate deliverables to meet quality, schedule, and budget goals.
• Manage quality, risk, schedule, and change management across projects.
• Mentor and lead multi-discipline project teams and ensure adherence to standards.
• Serve as main client contact during project execution to deliver an exceptional client experience.
