Job summary

Pike Engineering seeks an experienced Substation Senior Engineer to provide technical direction for substation design teams, lead project disciplines, and support business development. You will manage complex projects from scope through construction, coordinating with various disciplines and consultants.

The role requires 8+ years in engineering, a PE license, and strong leadership and communication skills, with a focus on safety, cost control, and quality design across high voltage substations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from ABET-accredited program or equivalent evaluation by NCEES
• Licensed Professional Engineer
• 8+ years of engineering experience in substation design and related fields
• Ability to lead engineers and designers and manage project scope
• Strong written and oral communication skills

Responsibilities

• Provide substation physical engineering, technical support, and supervision to a transmission substation design team
• Lead discipline work for projects and manage schedules and budgets
• Support proposal development, cost estimating, and business development
• Create processes for scope, estimates, budgets, and schedules for substation projects
• Oversee junior staff and mentor designers/drafters
• Collaborate with other disciplines, contractors, and clients on projects
• Visit sites and modify designs during construction

8+ years experience as a practicing-

Licensed Professional Engineer

Education

Bachelor’s degree from ABET-accredited Engineering Program (or equivalent evaluation by NCEES)
