J&T Business Consulting seeks a dedicated Physical Substation Engineer to join its multidisciplinary team in Covington, LA. You will design and develop preliminary and detailed engineering packages for high-voltage substations, translate client RFQ into constructible designs, and mentor junior staff.

You will serve as Lead Engineer on assigned projects, perform field support during construction, and travel to client sites as needed. ABET-accredited BSEE and FE certification are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from ABET-accredited program.
• Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification.
• Hands-on experience with ETAP, WinIGS, and IEEE 80/998 standards.
• Knowledge of physical substation design, grounding grids, and high-voltage equipment layouts.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engineering designs of high-voltage substation systems per standards.
• Design substation layouts, elevations, conduit plans, equipment layouts, grounding grids.
• Perform electrical calculations with power system tools (ETAP, WinIGS).
• Prepare drawings, specifications, proposals, bid documents, and material estimates.
