Xcel Energy is seeking talented electrical engineers to join the Substation Engineering & Design team at Staff, Senior, or Principal levels. Positions focus on design and delivery of critical substation infrastructure within a modernized grid. Hybrid work with onsite cadence may apply.

Candidates bring extensive technical expertise, strong communication, and mentoring abilities to support projects from conception through commissioning, across multiple teams and external partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (ABET-accredited) required.
• EIT/FE strongly preferred; PE may be required for some roles.
• 5+ years of relevant engineering experience for Senior level; more for Principal.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects of moderate to large size, day-to-day coordination and technical direction.
• Develop new or improved engineering solutions, procedures, and standards.
• Mentor and guide engineers and designers; provide technical reviews.
• Provide field engineering oversight for testing, installation, commissioning, and handover.
