Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Lead Substation Engineer to join our Power Delivery Services team in the Baltimore area. The role involves leading substation physical and protection & control (P&C) design projects, reading and creating complex electrical drawings, and coordinating with clients and internal teams to meet project goals.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering with 8+ years of substation experience, strong communication, and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Execute substation physical and P&C projects.
• Read and design substation drawings (one-line, three-line, schematics, wiring, plan-section, conduit, grounding).
• Create and check bill of materials for substation physical and P&C.
• Perform quality control checks on designs.
• Support full project lifecycle from scoping to final design and implementation.
• Apply Minimum Requirements of the National Electrical Safety Code to design processes.
• Work with client standards and with designers/drafters to produce drawings.
• Occasional site visits to customer locations and collaboration with the Framingham office.
