Job summary

The role includes on-site duties at the Ramsey campus and in the service territory. A wage of $64.25 per hour under the union contract plus a target 5% annual bonus is offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Associate or vocational diploma in a technical electrical/electronic program or related field.
• Valid health card.
• 2 years of experience as Substation & Electrical Equipment Technician, Journey or related experience.
• Ability to meet the physical standards of the job: Lift up to 85 lbs.; Push/pull up to 100 lbs; grasp hand tools; hear electrical arcing and smell electrical burning.

Responsibilities

• Perform and assist in installation, testing, and maintenance of substation and line equipment to ensure uninterrupted power and safety.
• Install and maintain SCADA and distribution automation equipment to improve outage restoration time.
• Provide work direction to equipment technicians and ensure timely, accurate completion of tasks.
• Maintain an accurate database of production statistics and shop performance.
• Inspect, test and maintain specialized equipment on the distribution system and substations.
• Assist with disposal and handling of hazardous material and maintain records.
• Keep accurate records for new equipment and maintenance; enter data into databases.
