Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Substation Engineer Consultant in Puerto Rico. The role leads multi-disciplinary teams on high voltage substation projects, coordinating design, procurement, and construction activities.

You will ensure quality, schedule adherence, and budget compliance while supporting client accounts and business development. The position requires a BS in engineering from an ABET-accredited program, 10+ years in HV projects, and fluency in Spanish and English.

Qualifications

• Requires a BS in engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• Experience in Project Management of Utility Transmission/Substation/Energy Projects.
• Knowledge of NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEC, IEEE and ANSI standards.
• 10+ years in design engineering and/or management of HV utility projects.
• Experience in EPC, Owners Engineer, Traditional or Joint Ventures a plus.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English (read, speak, write).

Responsibilities

• Manage project teams of engineers, designers, estimators, controls and scheduling professionals.
• Coordinate detailed design phases for electrical engineering work.
• Lead cross-disciplinary coordination with civil, structural, and transmission teams.
• Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and with high quality.
• Support client relations and business development opportunities.
• Provide independent reviews of scopes, proposals, and procurement specs.
• Mentor and develop team members.
