Job summary

E.W. Scripps Company in Atlanta, GA is seeking a Lead Studio Engineer to be the technical backbone of our live broadcasting operations. You will install, maintain, and repair critical broadcasting components to ensure peak performance.

Collaborating with vendors on upgrades and troubleshooting, you will keep on-air production flawless across IP networks and studio systems while resolving complex issues in a fast-paced TV environment.

Qualifications

  • Experience with live television production.
  • Thorough knowledge of digital audio/video workflows.
  • C/Ku band satellite uplink and downlink systems.
  • Experience with vendor support relations is highly desirable.
  • Previous television engineering experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Installs, maintains, and repairs critical broadcasting components to ensure systems run at peak efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot and repair broadcast and IT equipment.
  • Collaborates with technology suppliers on setup, upgrades, troubleshooting, and issue resolution.
  • Programs/customizes equipment software functionality.
  • Tracks and assists users with equipment issues and escalation as needed.
  • Works with Network Ops leadership on addressing operational issues and facilitating technical decisions.
  • Provides input for disaster recovery and system planning.
