Job summary

Dallas, Texas-based The E.W. Scripps Company seeks a Manager, Station Broadcasting (Creative Design) to lead technical operations and ensure seamless on-air performance.

You will supervise a team, manage broadcast equipment and RF systems, and drive engineering projects to maintain cutting-edge capabilities. The role emphasizes leadership in broadcast engineering, FCC compliance, and proactive problem solving to keep the station thriving in a dynamic market.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical or Electronic) or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in broadcast station operations or engineering.
  • Broadcast Engineering Certification (FCC) or SBE certification is a plus.
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record and proof of insurance.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain all broadcast equipment/systems for daily on-air operation.
  • Apply RF engineering knowledge to install, repair, and maintain studio, transmitter, and satellite links.
  • Maintain ancillary systems such as HVAC, networking, electrical, and mechanical.
  • Ensure compliance with FCC rules and protect the license.
  • Troubleshoot and coordinate with Engineering Support to resolve issues.
  • Lead engineering projects and report status to Regional Director, Station Operations.
  • Provide 24/7 on-call support to keep the station on air.
  • Coordinate training for Station Technicians and Engineers.
