Qualifications

• Must have made and delivered hardware before.
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Aerospace, Civil, or Structural Engineering.
• Experience designing structures or structural systems (level based on years of experience).
• Experience performing stress analysis calculations using both hand calculations and FEA tools (level based on years of experience).

Responsibilities

• Ownership of a structural system from concept to performance in the field.
• Conduct trade studies to down select the best solution to the product requirements.
• Design structures that are subject to extreme pressures and temperatures.
• Select proper materials for the solution that meet requirements including economics.
• Perform detailed thermostructural analysis including static and dynamic analysis for both strength and durability assessments. Methods will include both hand calculations and FEA tools.
• Develop manufacturing methods including managing internal production teams and outside suppliers.
• Manage the system or component development by tracking schedule, economics, and risks.
• Facilitate strong communication of your system or component to the organization.
