Job summary

Mackenzie Inc. in Sacramento is seeking a structural engineering lead with 6–14 years of experience and a PE license. This full-time role leads a team, coordinates with multiple disciplines, and designs a range of projects.

OSHPD/HCAI experience is a plus and strong regional connections help. Hybrid schedule requires in-office Tue–Thu with option to work from home Mon/Fri. The role emphasizes collaboration with leadership, technical prowess in design, and self-motivation in a dynamic

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering.
• 6 to 14 years of structural experience with relevant project types.
• PE license is required.
• SE license preferred.
• Working knowledge of ASCE 7, ASCE 41, ACI, AISC, etc.
• Ability to coordinate and assemble construction documents.
• Ability to work independently through design, development and construction phases.
• Experience with steel and manufacturing/semiconductor projects a plus.
• Experience creating project specifications.
• Previous team management is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop structural projects from conceptual planning through design documents and construction.
• Collaborate with Architects, Interior Designers, Civil Engineers, Landscape Architects, and MEP teams.
• Perform structural gravity and lateral calculations on varied projects.
• Plan, organize, coordinate, and lead the structural design team.
• Coordinate with Structural leadership in other offices on growth strategies.
