Job summary
Mott MacDonald in Los Angeles is seeking a Project Engineer to lead design and delivery of transportation and civil infrastructure projects, including bridges, retaining walls, and transit structures. You will work with cross‑functional teams across offices, mentor junior staff, and contribute to a digital-by-default approach while advancing California seismic design and code compliance.
A California PE license or ability to obtain within one year, ABET-accredited degree, and 7+ years of
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering from ABET-accredited university.
- 7+ years of structural engineering experience.
- Experience with AASHTO, Caltrans, AREMA, ASCE, and CBC design codes.
- California seismic analysis and design experience.
- Proficiency in concrete/steel design.
- Ability to work independently and with teams.
Responsibilities
- Develop conceptual, preliminary, and final designs using industry-standard software.
- Participate in project, client, and team meetings.
- Mentor junior staff and review designs.
- Prepare drawings, reports, and specifications.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across offices.
- Attend site and client meetings in LA and Austin markets.
- Support digital-by-default deliverables and project goals.
