Job summary

Parametrix is seeking a Structural Engineer with a strong background in water and wastewater infrastructure to lead and support the design of structural systems for facilities such as wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, and related infrastructure.

You will collaborate with civil, mechanical, and process engineers to deliver resilient, efficient, and constructible solutions for municipal and regional clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Washington or ability to obtain quickly; SE preferred.
• 8+ years of relevant structural engineering experience in a consulting environment; seismic design and retrofit experience in the Pacific Northwest.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support structural design for water and wastewater facilities, including treatment plant structures, pump stations, lift stations, equipment support structures and foundations, and reinforced concrete/steel systems.
• Perform structural analysis and design in accordance with applicable codes and standards (ACI, AISC, ASCE, etc.).
• Develop construction documents, including plans, specifications, and calculations.
• Coordinate closely with internal multidisciplinary teams and external partners.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff.
• Support project management tasks, including scope, schedule, and budget tracking.
• Participate in client meetings, design reviews, and presentations.
• Conduct site visits and support construction-phase services, including responding to RFIs and reviewing submittals.
