Job summary

Parametrix is seeking a Structural Engineer with a strong groundwater and wastewater infrastructure focus to lead and support the design and delivery of municipal water facilities. The role collaborates with civil, mechanical, and process engineers to develop resilient, constructible solutions.

You will perform structural analysis, develop construction documents, and mentor junior staff while engaging in client meetings and site visits in the Pacific Northwest.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Licensed PE in Washington (SE preferred) and able to obtain quickly.
• 8+ years of structural engineering experience in consulting; seismic experience in the Pacific Northwest.
• Proficiency with structural analysis and design software.
• Strong knowledge of reinforced concrete and steel design.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support structural design for water and wastewater facilities, including treatment plant structures, pump stations and lift stations, equipment support structures and foundations, and concrete/steel systems.
• Perform structural analysis and design per codes (ACI, AISC, ASCE, etc.).
• Develop construction documents, plans, specs, and calculations.
• Coordinate with internal multidisciplinary teams and external partners.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff.
• Support project management tasks: scope, schedule, budget tracking.
• Participate in client meetings, design reviews, and presentations.
• Conduct site visits and support construction-phase services, including RFIs and submittals.
