Job summary

Parametrix, a 100% employee-owned consulting firm, seeks a Structural Engineer to design water and wastewater facilities in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team. You will lead structural projects, develop plans and calculations, and mentor junior staff.

Ideal candidates have 8+ years in consulting, PE licensure (Washington) or ability to obtain quickly, and experience with seismic design. Flexible work arrangements and a competitive benefits package are available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering required.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Washington or ability to obtain quickly; SE preferred.
• 8+ years of structural engineering experience in a consulting environment.
• Experience with seismic design and retrofit, particularly in the Pacific Northwest.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support structural design for water/wastewater facilities (treatment plant structures; pump and lift stations; equipment supports; concrete/steel systems).
• Perform structural analysis and design per codes (ACI, AISC, ASCE).
• Develop construction documents: plans, specs, calculations.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external partners.
• Mentor junior staff and provide technical guidance.
• Support project management: scope, schedule, budget tracking.
• Participate in client meetings and design reviews.
• Conduct site visits and construction-phase support (RFIs, submittals).
