Job summary

IEM is hiring a Skidding/E-House Engineering Manager in San Antonio to lead the structural engineering of skid-mounted packages and electrical houses. You will ensure code compliance, licensing, PE stamping, and safe lift calculations while guiding a skilled team toward on-time delivery.

The role requires a PE license, extensive IBC/code knowledge, and experience managing complex engineering programs with cross-functional teams and AHJs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Structural, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 15+ years of structural engineering experience in skidding/E-House environments.
• Active PE license; ability to stamp structural calculations and drawings.
• Experience with IBC compliance, licensing, inspections, and lift calculations.
• Experience leading engineering teams and collaborating with customers and AHJs.

Responsibilities

• Lead the structural engineering discipline for skid-mounted equipment and E-Houses.
• Review, approve, and PE-stamp calculations, drawings, and specifications.
• Perform and oversee lift calculations and rigging plans for safe handling.
• Manage state professional licensing for the engineering group across project states.
• Coordinate certifications, inspections, and permitting with AHJs and inspectors.
• Mentor and develop a team of structural/design engineers.
• Set standards, practices, and quality control with the VP of Engineering.
• Assess project scopes to identify structural, coding, and licensing needs.
• Collaborate with PM, manufacturing, and QA to ensure manufacturability and on-schedule delivery.
• Stay current with IBC/state codes and adapt internal standards accordingly.
