Black & Veatch’s Structural Team seeks a senior structural engineer focused on water and industrial facilities. The candidate will lead design efforts, supervise engineers and technicians, and coordinate across disciplines to deliver advanced water infrastructure projects.

The role emphasizes complex analysis, design of structures supporting purification facilities, and collaboration on diverse markets. It requires ABET‑accredited master's in structural engineering and 11+ years of experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Minimum of 11 years related work experience.
• Ability to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements.

Responsibilities

• Execute complex structural analysis and prepare drawings for the design of water and wastewater treatment plants, industrial facilities, and other complex structures.
• Supervises Structural Engineers (US and overseas) and technicians; leads larger production teams and serves as the responsible charge for projects.
• Perform construction phase duties such as site visits, responding to RFIs, and reviewing contractor submittals.
• Manage design fee estimates, budget/schedule progress, changes, and BV Quality Control requirements.
• Coordinate work with architects and other discipline engineers.
• Ability to lead teams on projects with construction values greater than $200M.
• Provide guidance on department design guides, standards, codes, and BV policies; update engineering standards as needed.
