Job summary

Champion Home Builders Inc. in Athens, TX seeks an experienced Structural Engineer & Design Manager to lead a team of drafters and engineers in delivering safe, code-compliant residential and manufactured home projects.

You will stamp and seal drawings, review calculations, set engineering standards, and collaborate with Sales, Production and Quality teams to drive on-time project results. Travel is moderate and the role offers a hands-on leadership path with opportunities to influence

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related engineering discipline.
Current Professional Engineer (PE) license in the United States with ability to stamp and seal drawings.
Minimum 5+ years of structural engineering experience.
Experience leading, supervising, or mentoring drafting/design teams.
Strong knowledge of residential and commercial building codes.
Experience with structural analysis and engineering software.

Responsibilities

Lead, mentor, and manage a team of CAD drafters and designers.
Review drawings, calculations, and technical documents for accuracy and compliance.
Establish drafting and engineering standards, procedures, and best practices.
Coordinate with Sales, Production, Quality, and Operations teams to ensure successful project execution.
Oversee multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and quality expectations.
