Job summary

HDR in Rocky Hill, CT seeks a Senior Structural Engineer to lead building structural design and technical reviews within the Building Engineering Services Group. You will serve as SER on projects and mentor junior staff, coordinating with architects, civil, mechanical, and electrical engineers to ensure durable, safe, and efficient structures.

Responsibilities include design from concept to construction, analyses with RAM/ETABS/SAP2000, and producing construction documents.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
• 10+ years structural engineering experience in building design.
• Professional Engineer license recognized by local boards.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary building or infrastructure projects.
• Proficiency with RAM, ETABS, SAP2000, RISA-3D, STAAD.Pro and BIM like Revit.

Responsibilities

• Lead the BES structural engineering section in New England region.
• Serve as Structural Engineer of Record for projects.
• Lead structural design from concept through construction.
• Develop structural systems based on codes, constructability and lifecycle cost.
• Perform analyses and integrate BIM and digital delivery workflows.
• Prepare calculations, specs, reports and construction documents.
• Mentor junior engineers and coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams.
• Support proposal development and client presentations.
