Job summary

gpac is seeking a Structural Design Engineer to join a premier structural steel fabricator and erector in Kernersville, NC. You will focus on designing and analyzing steel connections, performing structural analysis, and contributing to ongoing projects with high impact.

The role requires a civil/structural engineering degree, 4+ years of experience, and licensure (EIT/PE/SE). Proficiency with Ram/RISA, Excel, Revit, and BIM tools is expected.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering is required.
Master's degree is a plus.
EIT, PE, or SE certification is required; professional licensure preferred.
4+ years of structural engineering experience.
Strong knowledge of building codes, materials, and standards.
Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
Proficiency with Ram Connection, RISA Connection, Excel, Idea Statica, BlueBeam, Trimble Connect, and Revit.

Responsibilities

Structural analysis for delegated steel connection design projects.
Steel connection design, miscellaneous steel design, and erection engineering.
Calculation development, steel shop drawing reviews, and submittal preparation.
RFI development and creation of new calculations to improve efficiency.
Review 3-D BIM models to aid in building design and shop drawing reviews.
