Job summary

Selectek is seeking a Structural Engineer to support the design and analysis of building projects across multiple sectors. The role will cover structural design, analysis, project coordination, and mentoring junior staff on commercial, retail, government, hospitality, education, multifamily and historic projects.

Candidates should hold a bachelor’s in Civil/Structural/Architectural Engineering, have 5+ years of design experience, and be proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, and RAM

Qualifications

• BS in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering required.
• Minimum 5+ years of structural design experience.
• Experience with steel, concrete, masonry and wood design.

Responsibilities

• Design and analyze building structures for diverse market sectors.
• Prepare structural designs using steel, concrete, masonry and wood.
• Coordinate projects with multidisciplinary teams and manage schedules.
• Review drawings for code compliance (IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, AISC).
• Mentor junior staff and support project teams.
• Lead project delivery and ensure timely milestones.

Position Title: Structural Engineer

Location: Charlotte, NC or Richmond, VA

Job Type: Direct Hire

Pay Range: $90,000 - $120,000/year+ based on experience

Position Summary

Seeking a Structural Engineer to support the design and analysis of new and existing building projects across a variety of market sectors. This role will be responsible for structural design, engineering analysis, project coordination, and mentoring junior staff while working on commercial, retail, government, hospitality, education, multifamily, and historic building projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and analyze new and existing building structures.
• Prepare structural designs using steel, concrete, masonry, and wood.
• Manage projects and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Review drawings and ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards.
• Mentor and support junior engineering staff.
• Coordinate project deliverables and maintain project schedules.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering.
• 5+ years of structural engineering design experience.
• Experience designing with steel, concrete, masonry, and wood.
• Knowledge of IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, AISC, and related design codes.
• Proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD.
• Experience with RAM Steel, RAM Concept, Elements, or similar structural analysis software.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Experience leading project teams and mentoring junior engineers.
• Experience with commercial, multifamily, education, hospitality, government, or historic building projects.
