Job summary

SC Steel LLC in Lexington, SC is seeking a motivated Connection Engineer to design structural steel connections for fabrication projects. You will evaluate drawings provided by the Engineer of Record and develop braced frame, truss, moment, and miscellaneous connections while ensuring correct implementation in shop drawings.

The role requires a BS in Civil/Structural Engineering with EIT certification and experience with AISC codes, AutoCAD, MathCAD, and related detailing software; PE license is

Qualifications

BS in Civil/Structural Engineering from a 4-year accredited college and EIT certification.
Knowledge of AISC Codes, AISC Seismic Design Manual, AWS Welding Code.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, MathCAD and Bluebeam; MS Office suite.
Experience with structural analysis programs (e.g., MATLAB) and steel detailing software.

Responsibilities

Design structural steel connections including braced frame connections, truss connections, moment connections, and miscellaneous shear connections.
Review detailed shop drawings to ensure that designs are incorporated correctly.
Coordinate with Project Management and Project Engineering to provide economical and efficient connection designs.
Provide solutions to field and shop errors to facilitate fabrication and installation.
