Job summary

Polaris Inc. is seeking an experienced powertrain design professional to lead the design of transmission, driveline, and engine systems from concept through production.

You will drive gear, shaft, bearing, and chain-drive layouts while coordinating with suppliers and validation teams for robust manufacturing solutions. The role requires 5+ years in mechanical/powertrain/driveline design, strong CAD (Creo) skills, and expertise in DFMEA, DVP&R, and tolerance analysis, with a focus on innovation

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years in mechanical, powertrain, transmission, driveline, or gear system design.
• Experience with GD&T, FMEA, DVP&R, and tolerance analysis.

Responsibilities

• Lead design of driveline, transmission, and engine systems from concept to production.
• Develop schedules to meet program timing objectives.
• Create designs for gears, shafts, bearings, splines, and chain drives.
• Support drivetrain analyses (gear mesh, load modeling) using specialized tools.
• Lead design reviews and collaborate with stakeholders across interfacing systems.
• Select manufacturing methods and collaborate with suppliers on DFM.
• Create and maintain 3D CAD models and design documentation.
• Support validation activities (DVP&R planning and execution).
• Investigate and resolve supplier/manufacturing issues with structured problem solving.
