Job summary

Luster National seeks a Structural Steel Bridge Inspector for on-site work in the Savannah, GA region, supporting large heavy civil projects including highways and bridges. You will inspect field erection, verify materials and welding per shop drawings and specs, and document acceptance criteria for payment and approvals.

The role requires 7+ years in transportation inspection, knowledge of AWS D1.5/D1.1, field testing, and proficiency with Procore/Bluebeam.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, structural engineering, construction management, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience with field inspection of structural steel bridges and stay cable or cable replacement projects.
• Progressive transportation inspection experience with a state highway agency or consultant.

Responsibilities

• Inspect field erection of structural steel and verify conformance to drawings and procedures.
• Coordinate nondestructive testing and evaluate results against acceptance criteria.
• Maintain inspection records, daily reports, logs, and deficiency tracking.
• Witness field welding and bolted connections and verify fracture-critical requirements.
