Job summary

Jacobs seeks an experienced Senior Bridge Inspector to support CEI on a major bridge rehabilitation and maintenance program in Savannah, GA. You will verify contractor compliance, lead inspections of stay cables, bearings, expansion joints, and related components, and supervise junior inspectors during complex construction activities.

Responsibilities include monitoring bridge movements during cable replacement, inspecting traffic control, and ensuring adherence to GDOT standards and project

Qualifications

• Experience on complex bridges with cable-stayed bridge experience.
• Strong knowledge of cable-stayed bridge systems and replacement methods.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills.
• Post-tensioning inspection experience.
• Knowledge of GDOT standards and bridge construction specs.
• Ability to read drawings, specs, and contract documents.
• Valid driver's license and ability to work nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Verify contractor compliance with project plans, specifications, quality control procedures, and safety requirements.
• Serve as the lead CEI Senior Bridge Inspector on a major bridge rehabilitation project.
• Perform inspections of cable-stayed bridge systems, including stay cables, anchorages, dampers, HDPE sheathing, corrosion protection systems, and other structural installation components.
• Monitor bridge movements and structural behavior during cable replacement operations.
• Inspect implementation of traffic control based on the approved traffic control plan, access systems, and fall protection measures during inspection and construction activities.
• Lead inspection efforts for stay cable replacement, bridge bearing replacement, expansion joint installation, and structural modifications.
• Conduct independent inspections of complex bridge construction processes, including lifting, rigging, and access systems, materials, and structural systems.
• Supervise lower-level inspectors.
• Participate in pre-construction, progress, and closeout meetings.
• Perform field measurements and maintain contract documentation.
