Job summary

CFD Research Corporation seeks a senior engineer to lead the structural analysis team, overseeing FEA work including static, dynamic, fatigue, and buckling analyses. The role requires hands-on expertise with Abaqus/LS-DYNA and experience mentoring engineers.

The position is based at CFD Research’s Huntsville HQ, onsite, with collaboration with the Hollywood, AL test center and periodic travel. A strong security clearance and leadership experience are required.

Qualifications

• 10+ years hands-on experience with FEA.
• 3+ years experience in team leadership or mentoring.
• US Citizenship and eligibility to obtain/maintain a secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead a growing structural analysis team delivering FEA results.
• Oversee QA on all work products and brief results to customers.
• Mentor and develop team members; conduct biannual performance reviews.
• Coordinate with program manager and SMEs; interface with Hollywood, AL team; travel ~3 times/month.
