Job summary

CFD Research Corporation in Huntsville, AL, is seeking a talented finite element engineer to join its growing structural analysis team. You will develop and validate linear and nonlinear FEA models for metallic and composite aerospace structures, delivering rapid design assessments and documentation.

The role requires experience with Abaqus, ANSYS or Nastran, Python for post-processing, and familiarity with remote HPC workflows.

Qualifications

• US Citizenship and eligibility for a secret security clearance.
• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• Experience with Abaqus, ANSYS or Nastran.
• Ability to create clear technical documentation and present results.
• Strong problem solving, communication, and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and validate linear and nonlinear FEA models to assess safety margins and deflections.
• Mentor under multiple subject matter experts with decades of experience.
• Produce engineering reports and documentation for requirement verification and design reviews.
• Interface with Prototype, Test and Evaluation Division engineers; occasional travel to Hollywood, AL center.
