Job summary

Collins Aerospace is seeking a Principal Storage and Data Protection Administrator to safeguard classified systems, ensuring storage and backup environments are secure and reliable for engineering and program teams.

You will serve as the go-to expert for storage hardware, networking, and enterprise backup tools like NetBackup and Veeam, collaborating with stakeholders to meet performance and data-protection needs across critical programs.

Qualifications

University degree with 5+ years of storage/backup experience.
Active DoD Secret Clearance required Day 1.
U.S. citizenship required for clearance eligibility.
Hands-on experience with enterprise storage/backup platforms (Veeam, Veritas, NetApp ONTAP, Dell).
Proficiency with Red Hat Linux and Windows operating systems.

Responsibilities

Lead storage and data-protection best practices across the program.
Collaborate with stakeholders to optimize performance and capacity.
Oversee daily backup operations, troubleshoot failures, and perform quarterly recovery testing.
Maintain backup agreements, health checks, and audit-ready documentation.
Support system upgrades and storage governance initiatives.
Partner with architecture, engineering, network, vendors, and program leadership.
Provide technical mentorship and build team capability.
Participate in a 24×7 operational environment when needed.
