Job summary

The Inn at Mattei’s Tavern, Auberge Collection, seeks a Lead Steward to maintain cleanliness and sanitation of all kitchen equipment, dishes, and work areas while supporting kitchen operations and proper storage of deliveries.

You will supervise stewards, ensure health code compliance, and assist with opening and closing duties, emphasizing safety, efficiency, and teamwork in a fast-paced luxury hotel setting.

Qualifications

• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and late hours.
• Strong leadership and supervision of stewarding staff.
• Commitment to high standards of cleanliness and safety.
• Ability to maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety in a fast-paced kitchen.
• Stamina to stand/walk for long periods and lift/move heavy items.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, support and monitor utility stewards, dishwashers and temporary personnel to transport and clean utensils.
• Wash, sanitize, and properly store dishes, glassware, and kitchen equipment.
• Receive and store kitchen deliveries including paper goods and perishables.
• Maintain cleanliness of dishwashing stations, floors, walls, and trash areas.
• Label and store food items in compliance with health codes.
• Train and supervise stewarding staff.
• Track inventory of dishes and chemicals.
• Open and close stewarding and kitchen areas.
