Job summary

Catamaran Resort Hotel & Spa is looking for a Lead Steward to oversee daily Stewarding operations, coordinate staffing, and ensure high standards of cleanliness across kitchens, banquets, and dining areas.

The role requires 1–2 years in a similar hotel environment, the ability to manage shifts, and a valid San Diego County Food Handler certification. Evans Hotels, LLC supports training and career growth.

Qualifications

• Must have San Diego County Food Handler certification (obtained at company expense)
• RBS certification required
• Experience in hotel stewarding or similar environment preferred
• Ability to manage shifts, scheduling, and guest-facing service

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily Stewarding operations and provide direction to associates
• Prepare and distribute assignments for Stewarding staff and review priorities
• Coach and direct associates to achieve department goals and maintain standards
• Coordinate with Executive Steward and Executive Chef to address department needs
• Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of kitchens, restaurants, and stewarding areas
• Promote safe work practices and training on sanitation and chemical handling
• Support with inventory of china, glassware, and equipment
• Engage with other departments to meet service needs
