Job description

Keep Scottsdale’s Most Stylish Escape Sparkling

At The Scott Resort & Spa, the magic is in the details: a polished wine glass before dinner, a spotless pan ready for the next rush, a kitchen that stays calm, clean, and ready to shine. Behind every poolside cocktail, memorable celebration, and desert-inspired dining experience is a stewarding team that keeps the operation moving.

We’re looking for a hands-on leader who takes pride in creating order, setting the pace, and helping teammates succeed. If you thrive in a fast-moving kitchen, enjoy leading by example, and know that a clean workspace is the foundation of great hospitality, this is your place to make an impact.

Located in the heart of Scottsdale—where sun-soaked days, exceptional dining, vibrant events, and genuine Arizona hospitality come together—The Scott is anything but ordinary. Our resort brings personality, warmth, and a little sparkle to every guest stay. You’ll be part of the team making it happen behind the scenes.

What You’ll Bring To The Team
  • Lead and coordinate the daily work of the dishwashing and stewarding team.
  • Assign stations and responsibilities based on business levels, banquet needs, restaurant service, and special events.
  • Train new team members on cleaning, sanitation, safety, chemical handling, and equipment-operating procedures.
  • Lead by example through reliability, punctuality, professionalism, cleanliness, and a strong work ethic.
  • Create a positive, respectful, team-first environment where everyone is ready to jump in when needed.
  • Communicate clearly with chefs, cooks, servers, managers, and fellow associates regarding dishware, equipment, sanitation, and supply needs.
How You’ll Keep Things Running Beautifully
  • Ensure dishes, glassware, silverware, pots, pans, smallwares, and kitchen equipment are thoroughly cleaned, sanitized, and available throughout service.
  • Operate, clean, and help maintain the commercial dish machine and related stewarding equipment.
  • Monitor dish machine temperatures, chemical levels, and equipment performance; report concerns promptly.
  • Maintain clean, organized, sanitary dishwashing and back-of-house areas—including floors, drains, walls, trash areas, and workstations.
  • Keep pots, pans, smallwares, and culinary equipment properly organized, stored, and ready for the kitchen team.
  • Assist with receiving, organizing, and storing kitchen supplies and equipment.
  • Support garbage, recycling, and grease-disposal procedures in accordance with property standards.
  • Help control breakage, chemical usage, and operating costs through thoughtful, efficient practices.
  • Report damaged, missing, or malfunctioning equipment and dishware to management.
  • Complete opening and closing duties and ensure the stewarding area is set up for the next shift.
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, OSHA, and company safety standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the culinary and resort leadership teams.
What Makes You A Great Fit
  • You bring a positive attitude and take real pride in a job well done.
  • You enjoy working with a collaborative team and understand that every back-of-house detail supports an exceptional guest experience.
  • You can confidently guide others, provide training, and keep a team focused during busy service periods.
  • You work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment with varying kitchen temperatures.
  • You are comfortable using commercial kitchen cleaning products and safely handling and storing chemicals.
  • You can reach, bend, stoop, lift, carry, push, and stand continuously throughout your shift.
  • You can move goods on carts and handle loads of up to 200 pounds.
  • You have basic math skills for requisitions and inventory-related tasks.
  • You communicate clearly and effectively in English with fellow associates.
  • You maintain a polished, professional appearance appropriate for a luxury resort environment.
  • You are dependable—consistent attendance is essential to delivering the warm, seamless hospitality our guests remember.
Experience And Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous dishwashing or stewarding experience in a restaurant, hotel, resort, banquet, or high-volume kitchen environment is preferred.
  • Previous experience leading, training, or directing a stewarding or dishwashing team is preferred.
  • Maricopa County Food Service Worker Card is required.
  • Ability to safely lift and transport heavy equipment and supplies.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with culinary, restaurant, banquet, and resort teams.
Make Space For Genuine Hospitality

At The Scott Resort & Spa, we believe the best hospitality feels personal, sincere, and effortless—even when there’s a lot happening behind the scenes. Whether the resort is welcoming weekend getaways, hosting a Scottsdale celebration, or serving guests fresh from a day in the desert sun, your work helps create the smooth, memorable experience they came for.

Our purpose is Making Space for Genuine Hospitality. We live it through our values: Hands On & Heartfelt, Sincere & Focused, Collaborative & Curious, and Conscientious. If you’re ready to bring energy, leadership, and care to a team that values the people behind the polish, we’d love to meet you.
