Job Summary
$3000 signing bonus (if eligible); full‑time, evenings. Requires CRCST certification from HSPA or CBSPD, three years related work experience and Certified Instrument Specialist (CIS) or ability to obtain within three months of hire.
Job Duties
- Assist with daily supervision and management activities related to the department.
- Assist in maintaining departmental compliance with regulatory agencies (Joint Commission, Department of Health).
- Supervise and direct the work of others in the absence of management personnel.
- Assist staffing, planning and management of operational functions.
- Alter normal routines to adjust to irregular and emergent situations.
- Assist in supervising specialized technical skills and work performance.
- Work with supervisor to develop quality monitors, in‑service programs and orientation programs.
- Assist in maintaining listings and diagrams of surgical and floor grade instrument sets.
- Assist in interviewing and replacing employees.
- Assist in investigating problem areas or complaints concerning intra‑and interdepartmental operation.
- Perform all activities of a Sterile Processing Technician including operation of decontamination and sterilization equipment; disassemble, clean, inspect, and assemble instrument sets.
- Dispense products requested by verbal, written or telephone requisitions.
- Staff have access to non‑controlled medication storage; transport non‑controlled medications as needed.
- Work in a clinical environment and satisfy all job‑specific obligations, complying with all organization policies and procedures.
Education
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED) – required.
Experience
- Minimum of 3 years related work experience.
Certification(s) and License(s)
- Certified Sterile Processing Technician – HSPA or CBSPD.
- Certified Instrument Specialist (CIS) or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire.
